| The AITP roots begin in the 1950s by a group of technically minded people who saw that technology was moving so fast that there would be a need for technically minded people like themselves to have a user's group as a resource they could turn to in order to keep ahead. | Standards of Conduct | |
These standards expand on the Code of Ethics by providing specific statements of behavior in support of each element of the Code. They are not objectives to be strived for, they are rules that no true professional will violate. It is first of all expected that an information processing professional will abide by the appropriate laws of their country and community. These standards address tenets that apply to the profession.
